As a high school student interested in coding, an internship can help you understand what building a software looks like in practice. Instead of only learning the theory, you get a chance to work on a real project with consistent feedback. Internships are also a great way to gain exposure to industry practices, professional habits, team collaboration, and documenting and presenting your work.
To help you get started, we have put together a list of 5 coding internships for high school students.
This is a 4-week virtual work-experience program built around a structured weekly workflow. The program includes an orientation phase, skill-building sessions, project development, and a final presentation. As part of the program, you spend the month working and building towards a clear deliverable that is coding based as opposed to focusing on disconnected tasks.
The final outcome is a completed project and a final presentation to representatives, plus a certificate and a letter of recommendation from the company. This guided experience includes, both, skill building and the opportunity to apply those skills to an industry relevant project, and allows you to work with a well-known, global company, adding great value to your college applications.
Cost: $4,900
Location: Virtual
Application Deadline: March 29
Program Dates: June 20 to July 26
Eligibility: High school students globally
The Ferrari work-experience program is 4 weeks long and includes an orientation, skill-building sessions, and working on a project in small groups. As part of the program, you receive mentorship from industry experts, network with like-minded peers, and work on an industry relevant project in the field of coding.
Upon completion of the program, you receive a certificate and a letter of recommendation from the company. If you are interested in engineering-focused project work and are looking to work with a global company, this is a great fit for you.

Eligibility: High school students and college students (track-based; requirements vary by track)
